CYANOTYPE

The “Spring” series was created during the spring art residency “Between Water and Sky” at the OKAKNOVO Gallery in Konakovo. 

 After visiting the River Club in April, I felt spring not only around me but also within myself. I wanted to express this awakening through creativity, to explore how spring comes not only to nature but also to human life. Thus arose a series of works in which I reflect on inner spring, liberation, and blossoming against all odds. For me, these images have become a metaphor for the journey to oneself—through overcoming, embracing change, and finding inner harmony. I hope this series will resonate with everyone who seeks light even in the most difficult moments of life. The works are executed using the cyanotype technique on fabric. The blue color underlying this technique naturally resonates with the name of the residency, “Between Water and Sky.” For me, it symbolizes inner silence, the depth of self-knowledge, and a space for renewal—just as sky and water, when they meet, create a point of balance and new meanings. This series is about the eternal return to oneself through overcoming, about creativity as a means of inner transformation. “Inhale” is liberation, “Awakening” is acceptance of the cyclical nature of life, and “Blooming in Spite” is victory over circumstances. Together, they become a metaphor for the modern human journey: through crises and inner winters—to balance, blossoming, and the freedom to be oneself.
