As a visual artist, I work with different media and combinations of them. Right now it is abstract painting, cyanotype, paper and digital collage, photography and video art.
Through mixed media techniques I explore the different relationships between the individual and the intensely changing world, the multifaceted nature of the human being and the dynamic nature of all existence. I am concerned with themes such as self-identity and personal transformation.
My overall style is influenced by the spiritual practices and psychology I have studied throughout my life. This body of knowledge helps me to perceive everyday things and situations in a multifaceted way. I view my art as a form of self-discovery, where fragments of different experiences are sewn together like parts of a patchwork quilt, creating a multi-dimensional effect in my work.
Utilizing the versatility of digital technology and photography combined with traditional hand drawn works, the boundaries between mediums are blurred, creating hybrid art forms. Conceptual fusion also occurs through biomorphic forms, geometric shapes and depictions of people, spiritual content and cultural references.
“I like to think of my work as a window through which you can look inward and outward at the same time. Contemplating the formal and poetic beauty of the work enhances one’s sense of connection to oneself as the true creator of one’s life.”
